Brooklyn House Fire Kills Six, Injures Seven
PN Team • 5 hours ago
A fire tore through a two-story row house in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood early Thursday, killing six people and injuring seven, including three firefighters. More than 200 first responders battled flames described as coming from every window and floor, rescuing four people trapped inside, including two behind window bars. The blaze was contained within about three hours. Four victims died at the scene and two others died later at a hospital; eight neighbors were displaced. Fire marshals are investigating the cause; a lithium-ion battery was found at the scene but its connection to the fire is unconfirmed. Mayor Zohran Mamdani called it a devastating loss for the neighborhood.
