Tennessee has filed suit in Davidson County Chancery Court seeking more than $33,000 in unpaid fines from five former candidates and officials who failed to file required campaign finance or conflict-of-interest disclosures. The Tennessee Registry of Election Finance and Tennessee Ethics Commission can levy fines up to $10,000 for missed filings, and candidates who don't comply become ineligible to run for future office until records are filed. Named in the suit are former State Senate candidate Katrina Robinson ($30,000), U.S. House candidate Jameson Lee Manor, Washington County Commissioner David Johnson, Jefferson County Road and Highway Commission candidate John Turner, and Finger alderwoman Patricia Hostetler, each owing smaller penalties. Appeal deadlines for the fines have already passed.
