An Anchorage Superior Court judge ruled that Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom wrongly allowed legislative candidate Jose Tagle to remain on the ballot after the Alaska Public Offices Commission found he failed to disclose required financial interests. The ruling, in a lawsuit brought by the Alaska Democratic Party, won't remove Tagle's name since ballots have already been mailed, and he trails Democratic incumbent Ted Eischeid badly. The decision could fuel new litigation over Dahlstrom's similar reinstatement of Republican attorney general-turned-governor candidate Treg Taylor, who also withheld required disclosures, raising questions about certification standards ahead of Alaska's governor's race.
