Henry County, Georgia

Georgia's 2026 midterms will fill four statewide offices: school superintendent, labor commissioner, insurance and safety fire commissioner, and agriculture commissioner. Each race pairs a Democratic challenger against a Republican incumbent or appointee. Incumbent Richard Woods (school superintendent), John King (insurance), and Tyler Harper (agriculture) are seeking reelection, while Bárbara Rivera Holmes, appointed labor commissioner in 2025, runs for a full term. Democrats Lydia Powell, Nikki Porcher, Keisha Waites, and Katherine Juhan-Arnold are mounting challenges, bringing backgrounds in education, entrepreneurship, legislative affairs, and agriculture. The races will test Republican control of Georgia's statewide executive offices amid broader midterm dynamics.
