Cuyahoga County Voters Approve Three Charter Amendments
PN Team • 1 day ago
Cuyahoga County voters approved three charter amendments on Tuesday, each reshaping aspects of county government. Issue 13, approved with roughly 75% support, resolves a long-running dispute between the county law director and prosecutor by giving the law director primary authority over contracts, labor negotiations and public records, while the prosecutor retains litigation duties. Issue 12, passing with about 72% support, requires County Council approval before Executive Chris Ronayne can remove appointees from boards already subject to council confirmation. Issue 14, the narrowest at roughly 64%, splits appointments to the county's Charter Review Commission between the executive and council rather than leaving them solely with the executive.
