Rockland GOP Operative Charged With Ballot Fraud Tied to June Primary
PN Team • 21 hours ago
Aidan Rowan, a Rockland County Republicans Executive Committee member and campaign manager for Supervisor George Hoehmann, was arrested Nov. 4 and arraigned on felony charges including forgery, tampering with public records, and filing a false instrument. The Rockland Sheriff's Office said the probe began after Board of Elections commissioners flagged a ballot cast in the June 23 Stony Point primary, allegedly without the voter's knowledge. District Attorney Tom Walsh recused himself over his acquaintance with Rowan, and the case goes to a special prosecutor. Rowan's lawyer called the charges politically motivated. Officials say no candidate or campaign directed the alleged conduct.
