Michigan 5th District: Walberg Leads Re-Election Bid for 10th Term
PN Team • 15 hours ago
Republican U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg held an early lead in Michigan's 5th Congressional District, seeking a 10th term over Democrat Christian Vukasovich, with Libertarian, U.S. Taxpayer and Green Party candidates also on the ballot. The district spans Michigan's southern border, including Jackson County and parts of Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties.
Walberg, 75, first won the seat in 2006, lost it in 2008, and reclaimed it in 2010. He chairs the House Education and Labor Committee and sits on the Natural Resources Committee. In 2021 he was one of three Michigan Republicans who voted against certifying Arizona and Pennsylvania's 2020 electoral results.
