PN Team • 12 hours ago
Democratic incumbent Chedrick Greene defeated Republican Jason Tunney in the Nov. 3 special election for Michigan's state Senate 35th District, according to unofficial results, with Greene leading roughly 62,220 votes to 49,969. A third candidate, Laurie Atwood of the U.S. Taxpayers Party, drew about 1,712 votes. The result repeats Greene's May victory over Tunney for the seat vacated by Kristen McDonald Rivet after her election to Congress. Tunney conceded. Greene, a former Saginaw fire captain and Marine Corps Reserve veteran, will represent parts of Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties. Results remain unofficial pending certification.
