Two Incumbents Lose Seats in Greenville County School Board Elections
PN Team • 20 hours ago
Preliminary results from Greenville County, South Carolina's Nov. 3 nonpartisan school board elections show voters ousted two of six incumbents seeking new terms. Longtime trustee Chuck Saylors, on the board since 2002, lost a three-way District 20 race to teacher Robert Giles. First-term District 18 trustee Ann Marie Middleton was defeated by retired educator Rebecca McLaughlin. Incumbents Lynda Leventis-Wells and Amanda Brett held their seats, while Anne Pressley and Jeff Cochran ran unopposed. The races determine half the 12-member board overseeing South Carolina's largest school district, serving about 77,000 students. Results require certification by the county election board on Nov. 6.
