Motorcyclist killed in Interstate 4 crash near DeLand

A 22-year-old Ormond Beach man died early Sunday in a crash on Interstate 4 in Volusia County, Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the motorcyclist was riding behind a semi-truck near State Road 44 outside DeLand when the truck stopped for a roadblock set up because of an earlier crash ahead.
The motorcyclist struck the rear of the stopped semi and died at the scene. The truck driver was not injured and remained at the scene following the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
