A former officer at the Hendricks County Work Release Center in Indiana has been arrested and charged with felony sexual misconduct and official misconduct following allegations he had a sexual relationship with an incarcerated woman under his authority. Jeffery Alltop, 45, of Noblesville, was booked into Hendricks County Jail without bond after his arrest.
Officials first learned of the alleged misconduct in October 2023, when inmates reported Alltop was having sexual relationships with women in the facility. Investigators found he had exchanged nude photos and sexually explicit texts with one alleged victim, who had saved his contact as "Momma." Alltop admitted to meeting her outside the facility multiple times but denied sexual contact occurred, calling the encounters innocent. The alleged victim told investigators the contact was consensual and that she did not want him portrayed negatively. It remains unclear why charges were not filed until nearly three years after the initial report. An initial hearing was held this week before Judge Joshua Adair.
