Federal prosecutors have charged Prince Anderson, 20, with carjacking resulting in serious bodily injury and using a firearm during a violent crime after an attempted carjacking and shooting of a 15-year-old girl in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood. Anderson pleaded not guilty Thursday in federal court, and a U.S. district judge ordered him held in custody for the remainder of the case.
Authorities say the incident occurred the night of July 5 at a gas station on Fulton Road and Lorain Avenue, when Anderson pointed a gun at a woman and the teenage girl in a 2023 Kia Forte and demanded they exit the vehicle. He then shot the girl in the arm and wrist before fleeing on a bicycle. Court records indicate Anderson robbed another woman at gunpoint before his arrest and briefly escaped custody after slipping out of handcuffs. He also faces state charges including attempted murder and aggravated robbery in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, where he has also pleaded not guilty.
