A former assistant city clerk for Adairville, Kentucky, was arrested Saturday by the Logan County Sheriff's Office following allegations she stole city funds. She faces two misdemeanor charges, theft by unlawful taking and second-degree official misconduct.
The suspect had handled code and alcohol enforcement duties for the city. According to the Adairville Police Department, she was terminated after allegedly stealing approximately $454. Mayor Donna Blake has since asked the Kentucky League of Cities to conduct a forensic audit of the city's finances. The sheriff's investigation remains ongoing, and police say additional charges could be filed as the case develops.
