West Geauga, Kenston and Chardon each earned five-star overall ratings on Ohio's 2025-26 school report cards, outpacing the statewide district average of 3.8 stars. West Geauga was the only district in Ohio to score five stars across all six graded categories: achievement, progress, gap closing, early literacy, graduation, and readiness for college, career, workforce or military service. Kenston and Chardon both improved from 4.5 stars last year to five.
Berkshire earned four stars overall, with a standout 98.2% graduation rate but a weak two-star early literacy score. Cardinal earned 3.5 stars, its Performance Index inching up to 76.7 but still below the state average of 82.8. West Geauga posted the county's highest Performance Index and graduation rate at 98.9%. All five districts kept chronic absenteeism below the statewide average of 23.9%. District leaders credited staff, families and community support for the results.
